Topic:  Designing OLAP Cubes in SQL Server Analysis Services

Overview: This presentation will cover the basics of designing an OLAP database in
SSAS 2005.  It will cover the following:

1) The most important question....why use OLAP?
2) The basics of designing a cube, and building fact tables and dimensions.
3) Building dimension hierarchies, including Date hierarchies.
4) Brief overview of MDX (needed for any special querying of the OLAP
database).
5) Creating custom calculated members and named sets for the cube  (used
for reporting tools like Reporting Services, Excel, and even PPS).
